Following my divorce (your hard might be a different sort of hard), the Psalms were the only scripture that felt safe to me.
Having left the church and covered in shame from a failed marriage (so covered that I couldn’t even name it as shame at the time), I moved away from most Christians. I felt the need to have answers, or at least an explanation of how my life had turned out the way that it had.
When answers are hard to come by, what do we do?
I had grown up singing the Psalms in church. They were familiar to me already, but for the first time I was reading them with new eyes and a hurting heart.
What I experienced through the words was honesty from the human writer, describing in detail, his experience of life this side of heaven.
These recordings, bundled as a journey for YOU, were recorded over time as I was inspired by how similar the experience of the Psalmist was to what I was walking through in my own life.
My prayer is that you would feel known.
